Mantle Cat Vase - Tuxedo Cat

These are my take on the traditional Staffordshire Cat antique ornaments, popular during the 20th century, made in vase form.

Each cat is hand-built from flat slabs of clay, then carefully illustrated with underglaze. They are then bisque fired, and covered in a glossy transparent glaze, then fired again. They stand tall at 25cm and are illustrated with pretty pink ribbons around their necks. 

They are sold individually, but work beautifully as a pair and are designed to sit on your mantle piece, but they would work just as well as decorative bookends or as just wonderfully whimsical ornaments. 

Each measures 25cm x 18cm x 5.5cm approx.

Handmade in my studio, carefully illustrated and with a makers mark on the base.
